That was pretty cool and it was great to see all the fabrics and who they were from. In 1994 I just started quilting and didn't know anything about 1/4" seams! My first piece was made with 5/8" seams, as you do in dressmaking, and as a result wasn't very accurate!! I think you did a brilliant job for a first attempt and at 14!! Wow.
As for quilting it, if you were doing hand quilting then baptist fans would be nice, but as you mentioned a first attempt of machine quilting, I'd be tempted to sew a 1/4" from all the seams in a grid like fashion. Not only will it be easy to achieve (use a walking foot BTW) but it will stabilize the entire quilt and secure any less than perfect seams. Can't wait to see it done.
Love, love, love your video, hey that is such a great idea. It's wonderful to hear little stories about the fabric etc. Please post more clips.
