It's our first year hosting Thanksgiving dinner and Costas and I are doing our best to keep the stress levels low. Having guests over is the perfect time to tend to all of those little home improvement plans that had been waiting in the wings for the past few months. We spent all day on Sunday shopping-- first for food and then for household items.
I now have two new tablecloths, 8 lovely placemats, real napkins, napkin rings, an electric carving knife, a gravy boat, and a new set of silverware. In return I promised to finish the curtains I bought last winter which had been hanging in our living room with raw edges this whole time..
They turned out rather cute and match the new table settings perfectly. It's nearly 9pm and we haven't started cooking yet.. tonight we still need to start the stuffing and make the cranberry sauce. Things may get hectic tomorrow, so I'll wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving tonight. May your list of things to be thankful for grow longer each year.
